Several players have asked for the rules be spelled out somewhere. This is an attempt to rectify that problem.
I also discussed our server at some length so it would be a good idea to read this .
Respect:
Please speak respectfully to staff and other players. Disrespect will not be tolerated at any time.
Game Play Interruptions:
Report any bugs you might find (not silly things, real bugs) Exploiting bugs can result in banning from the shard..
Please stop paging staff with questions relating to where monsters are located, or what the spawn rate of a specific monster is, these kinds of questions detain staff from helping others with a genuine problem. We are very busy tending to other sorts of pages, that we can and do answer.
Please ask the other players in chat, or look for yourself.
The one exception to the above rule is: "The Ring of the Ranger", which is on the spider in the Dr Who dungeon. Now you know, and should not need to ask.
Paging Staff:
Also, it is better to page staff for assistance, rather than to yell one of our names or GM!!!! in chat. Using the page system enables us to assist everyone in order, rather than dealing with one player to the exclusion of others. Also the journal scrolls while pages stay on our screen till we see them. Remember we do not always have our eyes glued to the screen.
Language Code:
We have a very strict language code of conduct. There are young children in this shard. Violations of the language code will send you to jail, whether done in Chat or above your head. Be warned !
Bio Pet System:
The Bio pet system has been reactivated. You need to know that we do not want bio pets with human bodies and have made it such that if you create one you can not dress it or lore it.
This, by the way, is also true of werewolves. Once they die they cannot be dressed. Please do not page staff to dress your pets. If you tame a werewolf, just be careful and do not let it die.
Feeding Pets:
When training pets you must feed them at least once an hour. This can be done by staying with them or by a feeding macro.
1.) The first time one of your pets is found hungry, we will shrink it and put it in your backpack.
2.) If you forget to feed your pet again, we will hold the pet for 2 days.
3.) Repeat offenders will be handled on a case by case basis.
We really, really, do not want hungry pets out on the shard, as they can go wild and hurt someone. This is true not only in the pet training areas, but also at your home. Please honor this request.
House Building or Buying:
If you want a house, Staff will lay one for you. You can have as many as 2 18X18 platforms joined or not, your choice. If you choose to do this, you will be given money to build your house 1,000,000 for one house or 2,000,000 for 2.
Training Skills:
It is fine to afk while training skills. We prefer you doing this in one of the training areas. If you are training spells or something that can be done elsewhere, please do not park in areas where other players are trying to play. (like the gatehouse, in front of the pet trainers, or the gambling hall) To avoid any spell-casting accidents please do not cast spells in public areas where many players meet up with others.
Camping A Particular Monster:
It is also okay to camp on a particular MOB afk. However, if a player, who is actually at the computer, comes and wants to kill that monster, you will be moved away. In the same way, if you are trying to fight and someone is camped, page a GM to move them.
No Sale of Merc Deeds:
We do not want Merc deeds or Mercs sold, either on a vendor or privately. It is okay to give one to another player, but be very sure the player you are giving the Merc to, has enough taming and lore skill to control it.
Champs:
None of the champs are set up in the areas where OSI put them. If you want a champ, please page staff, then we will set it up for you in the sandy area in Trammel. There is a gate in the gatehouse that will take you to the Champ area. Be sure to page when you are finished with the Champ, so we can turn it back off.
Cheque Book:
Please use your checkbook to store your gold. If you make multiple checks, they will add item count to the shard, whether they are in your house, your backpack, or your bank.
Items & Display:
Thinking about item count: It is fine to set up a display of items you have found, but if you have multiples of the same item, please store them in keys. This also goes for resources like wood or ore. Again, please use the crafting keys to store resource items in them. Some of the keys are sold on the gold vendor stone, while others can be crafted or bought from a player vendor. There is also a tool-house which can be crafted or bought from a player vendor.
PVP - Felucca:
Anyone going to Felucca needs to be aware that PVP is permitted there. Staff will not interfere with PVP done in Felucca. PVP is not permitted anywhere except Felucca, under any circumstances..
Dungeons in Felucca are very dangerous and PVP is allowed and even encouraged in them. .
Shard Gossip:
Do not talk about any other shard in chat or above your head. This will get you banned on most shards.
I will be adding new things to this list as I think of them, so please check back for new revisions often.
